An Oil-y Life: The Trio

Essential oils aren't a new thing, I know that.

Back in November, I talked about my daily routine and since then have found more ways to incorporate essential oils in our lives.  But to be honest, I find myself easily overwhelmed almost every time I start reading into all the ways oils can help.  So today, I've decided to share a few of my favorite tips using dōTERRA's most popular trio: Lemon, Lavender, & Peppermint.

Lemon // residue removal - think Goo Gone, but better... put a few drops on a rag and rub off the sticky mess; plus, your home will smell lovely!

Lavender // stop a runny nose - all it takes is a drop or two on your nostrils and your runny nose is running no longer.

A summer tip: lavender also works to soothe a sunburn!

Peppermint // headache reliever - put a drop on your temples and rub it in; it smells good and will wake you up a little bit.

And while you're trying each of these oils individually, you can also use them together to fight seasonal allergies. All it takes is two drops of each in a veggie capsule each day. Easy!

I've heard people say that oils are too expensive, but when you begin using them in place of the items you are already using, you'll begin to see the savings.  And for only $35/year, you'll receive 25% off retail pricing, free shipping credits, member only promotions, and NO requirement to sell!

Plus, whoever signs up under me this month with an order of 100PV or more will receive the following:
*a bottle of fractionated coconut oil (great for dilluting!)
*a keychain + 8 sample vials to carry your favorite oils around with you
*essential oil chapstick
*shampoo/condition + toothpaste samples
*$50 in free credit!!!

Are you ready to save money & begin using essential oils? If so, contact me this month!

And if you're still overwhelmed with all the information or just not sure if oils will make a difference, also contact me. I'd love to send you a sample and let you try them for your self!

May Goals [With Grace]

As a list maker, I look forward to these posts. Even when I hardly finish crossing things off my list, I still like the accountability & declaring my goals, even if it's just for me.

April was a good month. We celebrated Calvin's first birthday ((woot woot!)) and got our house on the market ((yay!)). In short, the month flew by!

April Recap:

1. Finish getting our home ready to sell // Done + listed. Now we just wait for a buyer...

2. Catch up on photo books
// Check! I just have Calvin's fist year to do, but have caught up with our family albums.

3. Celebrate Calvin's first birthday/our first full year of parenting
// Success!

4. Comment/e-mail ten people telling them how much their (blog/Twitter/Instagram) posts resonate with me // I think I contacted about six people, which isn't horrible, but I'm going to shoot for another ten this month.

May Goals:

1. No unnecessary spending // I'm putting myself on another contentment challenge... we have plenty and we're really trying to save now that we have the house on the market.

2. Continue decluttering // We are looking to go from almost 2,000 square feet to under 1,200 square feet when we sell our home, so I've been trying to remind myself "less is more". Jen Hatmaker's "7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess" has been on my wishlist for a while now, so I'm thinking this might be the month to dive in.

3. Comment/e-mail ten people telling them how much their (blog/Twitter/Instagram) posts resonate with me // A carryover from last month, but one I hope to do regularly.

Stitch Fix #14

Right before Calvin's birthday, I received my fourteenth (!) Stitch Fix. Obviously, I'm a fan and here's a few reasons why:

1. Someone else picks out items based on my style profile // I know this isn't for everyone, but I like it because it's made me step out of my comfort zone.
2. Everything is shipped right to my door // honestly, I'm thinking of shipping everything to my house --- am I right, mamas?
3. It's keeping my shopping under control // I usually only schedule a fix when I have credit and am too a point where I have a closet that only contains the items I actually wear. Plus, I've never gone into a fix expecting to keep all five items, so spending under $100 every couple months is pretty good in my opinion.

Also, they send you magical jeans that fit like they were made for you! [insert all the heart eyes emojis]

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get photos of all the items I received, but here's a list of what I got & my thoughts:

Street Level Eve Stitch Front Reversible Tote // good (big) size, but already had a few blemishes, so I worried how well it would stand up over time.
DL1961 Lillian Skinny Jean (above) // magic jeans, enough said.
41Hawthorn Louisa Jacket // oversized and not in a good way.
Market & spruce Sahara Henley Button Top // if I didn't already have three chambray tops in my closet, this one probably would have stayed too.
Skies are Blue Folla V-Neck Knit Top // cute, but too expensive for a basic tee ($48)

Have you signed up for Stitch Fix? If so, let me know what you love about them. If not, what's stopping you?
