Love: Year of the Chihuahua Calendar

I'm not usually the kind who goes out and buys a new calendar every year, but after seeing ModCloth's Year of the Chihuahua calendar I might* have to become that person! This reminds me of our Lily and would look pretty cute on my desk at work.

*Unfortunately it's already sold out at ModCloth, but I am determined to try to find it else where...

Because it's Monday...

And I can't stop thinking of the great time I had with my college roommate on Saturday {drinking cider, eating cupcakes, and chatting like we still see each other every day}. Therefore, I'm hoping this picture will help me get through the first day of a long week ahead.

Happy Monday!

Love: Shabby Apple Dresses

{via}

I often find myself day dreaming of pretty dresses and the special occasions I can make up so I will have somewhere to wear them to. And Shabby Apple is one place I head to when knee-deep in aforementioned day dreaming. Unfortunately for me, dressy occasions don't come up often* and I already have a few fancy ensembles hanging in my closet that I can pull out if they do. But you can bet it doesn't stop me from filling my imaginary shopping cart up and right now, this beautiful number from Shabby Apple holds the top spot on my {always growing} list.

*If you are in the market for a pretty dress, check out the Shabby Apple link on my sidebar, with a code for free shipping! And no Shabby Apple did not ask me to promote them, I'm just a fan of sharing my day dreaming :)

Looking Forward To...

...Crossing off a big dental obsticles off my ever-growing list. Here's hoping this root canal goes better than the last.

...Spending a whole day with my newly married roommate*. I see coffee, catching up, & Eat Pray Love.

...Carving pumpkins {for the third year in a row - see first & second} with the whole Grable family, while also celebrating a milestone birthday for my lovely SIL.

...Helping Sam with his first official photo shoot. Can't wait to see how they turn out!

...Hanging out with James, Michelle, & Levi in Redmond {after almost a year}.

...Visiting my mom & her new life down in CA for almost a whole week!

What are you looking forward to?

*Kelly will always be my roommate at heart, whether we live together or not.

Love: Cupcake iPhone Case

Cupcakes are not a new topic on this blog. Several of my past "wish lists" have included cupcake items and I just recently purchased this off my Etsy wish list. Well surprise surprise, I've found another cupcake item to join the others.

{via}

ModCloth's Have Eyes for My iPhone Case in Cupcake would be the perfect addition to my life, I'm already convinced. And how delicious does that cupcake look? Maybe this will serve as some inspiration for my {far-fetched} dream of owning my own cupcake shop someday!

Weekend Highlights

Not too much to report on about the last couple days off, but enough to devote a post to it.

Friday - Neither of us had the day off in honor of Columbus Day {we're not off today, Monday, either}, but I did get a couple hours off to go to the dentist. Are you all ready to hear about my mouth again? Yeah, that crazy amount of dental work is picking up again...

Saturday - We were home-bodies for most of the day, with the exception of a relaxing pedicure {for me} with Kristi.

Sam also bought me some beautiful orange roses for no particular reason {love when that happens} and I like to think he just wanted to bring some more Fall into our house. He also tried his hand at butternut squash soup, which was more delicious than I thought it would be!

Sunday - The day was pretty typical - church, lunch, gym - but we also took a trip up to Portland to have dinner with my Aunt Leslie {who lives in California}. She had spent the morning running the Portland Marathon, which is very impressive in my book. Some of my grandma's family came too - Uncle Wayne, Aunt Carol, & Suzy - and made for a good time at Deschutes Brewery.

Love: That I'm Still Alive!

Last year I wrote about how today {October 8} is a day that will forever hold importance for me. I can't even begin to describe how thankful I am to be here today, especially thinking back to how things could have turned out much differently. Hooray for life!

As you see below, the warm-ish weather has decided to stick around a little bit and I'm making every effort to wear short sleeves & bare legs until I no longer can.
