Can you believe this couple above {us!} just took their first week-long vacation since they were married over two years ago? It's true {and kind of sad}, but don't worry, this isn't the last of these long vacations - we're hooked!
So where did we go on our trip? Down to California to see my mom for Thanksgiving! She just relocated this summer and we hadn't been down to see her new surroundings yet. Unfortunately, I neglected taking many pictures, but I do have this awesome 'grandchildren' shot that was a pretty big deal since we haven't all been together in years.
Other {non-documented} highlights include:
*Exploring my mom's new town.
*Spending quality time with my brother.
*Seeing aunts & uncles & cousins galore.
*Eating at Thanksgiving dinner for a week.
*Black Friday shopping.
We arrived back in Oregon late Friday night just in time for another Thanksgiving dinner with the Grable family on Saturday!
It was so nice to have us all together for the first time since this summer. The day pretty much consisted of two things: food & conversation. Both which were wonderful as usual!
It would be silly to say it's not great to be home, but I also miss all the family we spent time with over the last week. Can't wait for the next get together {on both sides} and the one thing I can say is I hope it isn't as long as the last time!

Love: TOMS
{image from here}
I'm going to guess TOMS isn't a new name to many of you, but I had to give a little shoutout to the company that keeps giving*. Basically, if you buy a pair of shoes from them, they turn right around and give a pair of shoes to a child in need. Sort of makes you feel better about buying more shoes, right? ;) I know one girl {me!} who would be pretty excited if a {size 8} pair found it's way under my Christmas tree this year!
*I was not compensated for my thoughts above, just sharing my own little opinion.

Love: The Heaters!
Yesterday, I had the privilege of spending the day with my favorite little guy. And his parents, of course! We played the drums, made animal sounds, & ate some cheese {Levi's favorite!} to name a couple things. Totally worth the 2+ hour drive both ways to spend a couple hours with this family!
The Heaters are not new to my blog {see 1, 2, 3, & 4} and this won't be the last. I foresee a long friendship with this family, even if we are states apart!

ShabbyFlower's Linen Poppy reminds me of the classic look of Emersonmade, but at a fraction of the cost & a special cause to support. All proceeds from this shop will go to help them with their international adoption costs. So if you're in need of a little spring-time bloom for the upcoming winter, check out ShabbyFlower's Etsy shop!
*I wasn't compensated for anything I wrote above, just a big fan of handmade items!

Weekend Highlights: Pumpkin Carving!
On Saturday, Sam's family {with the exception of my SIL, Krista - hope you're feeling better!} made the trek over to our house for a little pumpkin carving & birthday celebrating. Some of the highlights below:
The creativity was certainly in full force with the pumpkins this year. While some were a little serious about their pumpkins {myself...}, others were just silly - portrayed above by my BIL Matt!
My inspiration came from our pup Lily, using the stencil I posted about a couple weeks ago. It was a lot harder than I anticipated, but turned out pretty cute if you ask me.
And the secret is out {I was given the 'okay' to post on the blog} - I'm going to be an auntie in May!!! The onesie above was a birthday gifts to my SIL for the new baby! To say we are excited is a huge understatement!
Other things not highlighted by pictures:
*Never ending birthday gifts for Laura. {Happy Birthday today sister!!!}
*Crock pot full of homemade chili.
*Mini pumpkin cakes, brownies, & ice cream, oh my!
As usual, the day flew by thanks to this group of people. I am a big fan of holiday traditions with this family and can't wait for next year's carving party!
